♕ basics.
NAME. ▏Kahlan Amnell.
AGE. ▏Between the ages of 25-27.
CANON. ▏Legend of the Seeker (television series).

BACKTAGGING. ▏I'd be happy to.
THREADHOPPING. ▏As long as it makes sense within the context of the thread and the thread is public, sure!
FOURTH-WALLING. ▏No thank you, please.
♕ in character.
HUGGING. ▏Kahlan has some issues re: intimacy and personal space. She's gotten better about it, but a hug will initially be met with defensiveness and stiffness, until she knows you well enough. Unless you are a tiny child, or Richard. Or Zedd. Or Cara...
KISSING. ▏You can definitely try, but she won't take it well at all -- expect either flustered indignation or anger. I'd be up to playing it out though because it'd be hilarious.
FLIRTING. ▏Haha go for it. She won't be too receptive, as she's taken and kind of a prude, but it would be fun to play out.
ROMANCE/SEXUAL RELATIONS. ▏She's extremely dedicated to her...boyfriend? Soulmate? Her Seeker, Richard. While she does have an enormous capacity to love others and I do think she could love more than one person, it would take a very long time to happen and a lot of plotting.
Sexual relations she would be very unreceptive to; she isn't really able to indulge in that because of her powers/duty, unless circumstances allowed for it, and even then, again, she's very dedicated to Richard.
FIGHTING. ▏Yes, definitely! But please see the notes all the way at the bottom and her ability section in her app if you want the fighting to get serious.
INJURIES. ▏I've got no problem with that! If it involves some serious maiming though, I'd of course like to plot it out.
KILLING. ▏Entirely possible! But let's discuss it first.
TELEPATHY/MIND-CONTROL. ▏There's nothing in her canon that suggests a resistance to this, so all I ask is that I'm asked ahead of time.

Kahlan has a couple of very special powers that could lead to some very godmoddy actions if I were to have her use them all willy-nilly. I don't want to do that, of course, so that's where you come in! Kahlan's main abilities are Confession, a more powerful version of this, Con Dar, and an uncanny ability to read people down to the fine details. Here are descriptions of each below:Lie Detection
❝ Kahlan is one of the Confessors, an order of women who are able to "ascertain the truth beyond doubt." She is able to pick up on whether or not individuals are lying. She's not infalliable, but seems to have an uncanny ability to pick up on non-vocal cues and eye movements to figure this out, so in other words, she's exceptionally good at reading people. It's notable though, that if the person believes what they are saying beyond a doubt, even if it is a lie, she'll read it as them telling the truth. In addition, if a person has received special (magical) training to hide their emotions, Kahlan has difficulty reading them. ❞
Confession
❝ By touching an individual (she wraps her hands around their neck) and staring deeply into their eyes, Kahlan is able to do something of an override of their soul. The person loses their sense of self completely, they fall in love with her, and submit to her entirely. They cannot lie to her, disobey any of her orders or requests if they are Confessed, and remain this way until they die or she dies. The ability drains her, however, and she can not use it over and over again in a short span of time -- she needs to recover. As Kahlan is the Mother Confessor, she seems to be more powerful than the other Confessors seen throughout the series, and requires less recovery time by the point in her canon I'm taking her from. If her hands are bound in any way, it appears to block off the power. ❞
Now obviously, these are both kind of ridiculous. For people who prefer to opt-out (or opt-in, as it were), I have a little permissions form here for you to fill out. The lie detection part is especially important, as Confession and Con Dar are on a case-by-case basis and would not be used with the same frequency.
Con Dar will probably only be for...important event type things and so I'll throw up another permissions for that when/if the time comes.

If the character(s) have any special training (i.e. spies, special agents, etc.) or have ANY other resistance to being read (do they have psychic/magical barriers?), this is the place to let me know.
As a disclaimer, even if you give me permission, I'll still be sure to ask in advance -- even Kahlan has off-days, and I know it would likely get annoying if she could constantly figure out if a character was lying or not.♕ here is a form, oh boy!
